Extra police officers have been sent to the Nauiyu community at Daly River after a “large disturbance” involving people fighting with weapons, a house fire, a vehicle fire, and a hit-and-run, NT Police said.

Commander Kylie Anderson said in a statement that just after 10pm Tuesday, police received multiple reports of a disturbance involving a structure and a vehicle fire, a hit-and-run, and people fighting with weapons in the community on the Daly River about 300km southwest of Darwin by road.
