A potentially drug-addled teen who allegedly broke into a 12-year-old girl’s Palmerston bedroom in the middle of the night to demand cash has been arrested by police.
NT Police media manager Rob Cross issued a statement this afternoon, stating that the 14-year-old boy was arrested after allegedly breaking into a Bakewell residence at 2:30 am.
Police said the girl was not harmed during the incident.
“A neighbour had already contacted police after hearing a window smash,” Mr Cross said. “Police apprehended the youth as he attempted to flee the residence.”
The 14-year-old is in custody and investigations are continuing. Police said they believe the teen may have been under the influence of drugs at the time of the incident.
