A report into the May prison riot that saw more than 20 inmates climb onto roofs, light fires and injure staff at the Darwin Correctional Centre has not been released to the public despite the Gunner Government having the findings since before the election, the Opposition says.
A leaked email from an NT prison officer appears to directly contradict Corrections Commissioner Scott McNairn’s version of events surrounding the Darwin Correctional Centre riot earlier this month.
UPDATED: Multiple buildings have sustained “significant damage” from a prison riot which saw more than 20 inmates escape their cells and climb onto the roofs of Darwin Correctional Centre last night, NT Corrections Commissioner Scott McNairn said.
