A rural area man was treated for “minor burns” after a raging fire destroyed a Livingstone home overnight, emergency officials said, who are treating the fire as suspicious.
NT Fire and Rescue Services responded to the structure fire, after being dispatched from the Palmerston Fire Station, following an emergency call at 8:45pm.
By the time they arrived 30 minutes later, “the structure [was] well alight, with flames coming from the roof and nearby vehicles alight”.
“Crews extinguished the blaze. The structure was destroyed in the fire,” a statement from the NTFRS said.
St John Ambulance attended to “a resident who received minor burns as a result of the fire”.
Officials said a crime scene was established “and investigations are underway”.
