NT Police were forced to confirm a report circulating on social media Friday morning that a student was bashed at a bus stop and hospitalised after suffering serious head injuries during the violent assault.

Police said in a statement that two males, aged 16 and 18, were allegedly assaulted by two other males, both 17, at the Palmerston Bus Depot around 7:15am.
