A taxi was allegedly used by three males to ram raid a Moil business, NT Police said.

Police director of communications Mark Wilton said in a statement that about 8pm Sunday, police received reports that a taxi had been stolen by three males on Quandong street, Nightcliff, after the driver got out of the vehicle to go into a nearby house.

“A short time later, the vehicle was used in an attempted ram-raid of a business on Moil Place,” Mr Wilton said.

“The offenders, unable to steal any items, fled the scene on foot.”

The statement did not say what business it was but the Moil Supermarket, which has a bottle shop, is in Moil Place. It also did not say police meant by the word “attempted”.

Police are asking anyone with information about to call them on 131 444 (quote reference number P25109081).
