A three-year-old child who went missing while riding a quad bike in a remote area, sparking a frantic triple 0 call from his parents, has been found safely, St John Ambulance have said.
St John Ambulance emergency communications centre manager Craig Garraway said the child went missing while riding the bike just after midday on Monday at Dundee Downs.
“This was a disturbing one for the parents,” he said.
“The triple-O call was that the child had ridden off and obviously all emergency services were dispatched and the K9 unit was also sent out there.”
Luckily for the child’s parents, the toddler was located after more than an hour of searching.
“Thankfully for everyone (the child) was found after about an hour after the call, prior to us arriving out there,” Mr Garraway said.
“I’m sure the parents were very relieved, I couldn’t think of anything worse for a parent to go through, not being able to find their child, especially out in the middle of nowhere.”
