Police warn about Braitling break-ins

Police are urging residents around Braitling to be on guard after a series of house break-ins across two days in broad daylight.

Alice Springs Watch Commander Darryl Kerr said the offender damaged a back window to break into a Braitling house sometime between 3:30pm and 5:30pm Monday afternoon.

“A PlayStation 4, and two pairs of soccer shoes were stolen. So that was broad daylight,” Cmndr Kerr told the ABC.

He said police also responded to two other unlawful entries in Braitling on Sunday.

Authorities are calling for witnesses to these series of break-ins and urged the public to be extra vigilant on their properties.

“[It’s] what you would say would be a busy time of the day with people leaving schools and stuff like that, so certainly [we’re] asking if anyone saw anyone suspiciously in that area,” Cmndr Kerr said.

NT Police urges people with any information on the break-ins to contact police on 131 444 or CrimeStoppers 1800 333 000.
