An eight-year-old child and his mother had a machete held to their throats in an Alice Springs home invasion last weekend, while a 75-year-old woman woke up to find three men in her bedroom, one armed with a machete, with the details of the crimes suppressed by the NT Police, sources have told the NT Independent.
The NT Police media unit publicly reported four break-ins in Alice Springs over the weekend, but gave little detail about what had happened in each, including no descriptions of the alleged violent offenders who are still on the run, despite CCTV footage from at least one of the home invasions.
