Police seeking public’s help to identify man who indecently assaulted Alice Springs woman in street

NT Police are searching for a man who allegedly exposed himself to a woman before indecently assaulting her on an Alice Springs street over the weekend, police said.

The woman was reportedly walking along Barrett Drive on Saturday April 2 at around 7pm when the man approached her and assaulted her.

Police said the woman yelled at the man before “seeking safety at the southern end of Barrett Drive”.

The man is described as being Indigenous in appearance, about 180cms tall, with a slender build and short and estimated to be aged anywhere between late teens to early 30s, police said.

He was wearing a dark top with black shorts.

It was unclear why the media unit did not make the incident public sooner than Tuesday afternoon.

Anyone who may have information about the incident are being asked to contact them on 131 444 or report it anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via email on crimestoppersnt.com.au. A case number was not provided.
