Police are searching for three youths aged between 10, and 15, following two brazen daylight robberies in Alice Springs on Monday.
Police said at about 2:50pm, the three youths allegedly entered “an occupied premises” on Wallis Street, East Side before threatening the occupants and attempting to steal a car.
They were unsuccessful, police said, after a neighbour “disturbed” them, causing them to flee the area.
One youth was described as a 15-year-old Aboriginal male, tall and slim with curly hair with coloured streaks, wearing a patterned bandanna and black hoodie.
Another suspect was identified as a 14-year-old male, short, with a stocky build.
The third youth was described as a 10-year-old Aboriginal male, with a “very small build”, wearing dark clothing.
“Between 2:30pm and 4:10pm the same day, a second premises was unlawfully entered on Chewings Street with a quantity of cash and vehicle keys stolen,” police media manager Rob Cross said in a statement.
“At this stage it is not known if the two incidents are linked.”
Anyone with CCTV or dash-cam footage from either Wallis or Chewings Streets at the time are being urged to contact police on 131 444 or via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
