Police search for pair in alleged Moulden grog theft and assault

WATCH the video: NT Police are searching for a pair who are believed to have been involved in an alleged violent assault on a Moulden Supermarket employee during a grog robbery on Monday.

An unidentified male entered the store on Monday evening around 8pm and grabbed a hefty amount of liquor.

The store’s employee tried to stop the thief from fleeing the store’s premises, but the offender crashed into the employee and hurriedly ran off after the alleged assault.

Police say the employee suffered minor injuries.

Authorities believe a woman seen in the CCTV footage is an associate of the man and have asked the public for their help identifying the pair.

Images of the male and female involved in the crime were released by authorities to assist with the investigation.

The male is described as Aboriginal in appearance, slim build, and with medium-length dark hair. He was wearing a dark singlet and dark knee-length shorts at the time.

The female is also described as Aboriginal in appearance, average build, and with short-length hair. She was wearing a green t-shirt and dark-coloured shorts.

Police are asking for anyone with information on the identity of the persons involved to contact them on 131 444 or anonymously via CrimeStoppers on 1800 333 000 and quote reference number 9422917.
