NT Police are calling for witnesses after a 70-year-old woman was robbed by an “unknown Aboriginal man” on Dalwood Crescent, near the intersection of Dalwood and Jarvis Street at 7:50pm Friday night.

Police reported that the man fled on foot after stealing the woman’s handbag towards Patterson Street after a “brief struggle” with the victim.

The victim was uninjured and police are currently investigating the incident to identify the offender.

“Members of the community have the right to feel safe and this type of behaviour towards anyone, particularly this woman, is not acceptable,” Senior Sergeant Michael Budge said.

Police are asking anyone who may have information or witnessed the robbery to contact 131 444, and quote reference number 10061273.
