NT Police are searching for the driver of a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run in Humpty Doo early Monday morning, with the car’s left side mirror that was knocked off at the scene the only piece of hard evidence to work with.

Police said a 32-year-old woman was allegedly hit by the vehicle around 5:40am when she was walking along Girraween Road.

Witnesses told police the vehicle did not stop when the woman was struck.

They assisted the woman before St John Ambulance brought her to the Royal Darwin Hospital.

Police did not give details on the injuries sustained by the woman or her current condition.

“At this stage, the vehicle description is unknown however, during the incident the vehicle’s left side mirror was knocked off and left at the scene,” police media manager Rob Cross said in a statement.

Police did not specify what type of vehicle was involved.

NT Police urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has dash-cam footage from Girraween Road, between 5:30am and 6:00am to contact them via 131 444 and quote reference number 9854590.
