  1. Alcoholism is an addiction that can’t be managed by anything other than treating the addiction. Even if the royalties are paid at the communities they will head to a major centre to spend it.

  2. If the government can’t deal with the problem, then they need to allow citizens to do it. Introduce Castle Law.

    • Lia don’t loose the people of the NT for that usles Commissioner and his cronies remember what got the CLP into power it was your determination and focus on crime not this Commissioners left wing agenda he will bring you down please do what the voters of the NT put you their for not a political Commissioner that will drag you down

  3. Yes to Chris Le Page’s suggestion. Introduce Castle Law. Please understand that the Legal Industry has a big hold over the NTALCLP and this would be contrary to its interests.

  4. As well as talking to all those people, Lia had had her photo-op for the Thurs night TV news. Which was very high priority no doubt.

  5. All judges and politicians responsible for allowing these criminals to return to the streets are responsible for what is happening. The police are a tools but they are neither to blame or the answer. The CLC, NLC, NAAJA and the variety of useless NGOs charged with caring for the impoverished communities are 100% to blame. Where is the enquiry into the funding of these corrupt organisations?

If the plan doesn’t include removing the children from the unsafe environments that allows them the freedom to commit these crimes, then it will fail and residents must take measures for their own safety.

  6. The CLP knew what was going on before they were elected, surely they had a plan to keep their voters safe? Yeah Right…being in power is all that matters.

  7. Well it’s always a shocker looking out into the field of comments as one gauges the mentality of the wider community!
Then whack just like that you find the reality of why nothing changes because you read Bees comment above.
Centrelink payments on alcohol free days!! Jesus that’s a whole new level of stupidity!
Royalty payments paid into communities and not Alice- So l guess Lia has a plan towards infrastructure in all communities in the form of banks!!! Yep that’s an another whole level of STUPID!
Maybe stop Centrelink’s and make each community responsible for their fiscal management via these royalty payments!!
Easier still, the public purse with regard to Centrelink payments, should be strictly controlled to ensure non- essentials cannot be purchased. Now that’s a government, the people exercising a duty of care!
Let’s face it, public approval of Lia is falling evidence to the approval of the term “ The Palmerston princess”!
16 years in opposition- ThIs CLP leadership should have hit the ground running!!!! That little baby and the woman raped in addition to every other terrorism and criminal acts that have occurred in Alice Springs is proof Lia and Maley are failures and the gutless ministers whom have remained silent are despicable as community representatives, to guide a better NT future!

  8. I think a variation of the Castle law already exists! Just dont call the police!!!
