Since he got elected he has spent more time in his old home town at Wadeye than he has in the rest of the electorate.
So, a member of government is blaming public servants ( who are employees of the government) for this failure. I guess this is what you can expect when a boy is elected into a grown ups job.
We, Bishops Transport, have gotten 2 trucks into timber Creek in the last few days after jumping thru the Government hoops. at one stage l told a public serpent do you want these people to get supplies or not. As for the Minister he couldn’t run a chook raffle in a pub.
Maybe loan his taxpayer funded fuel card to the undecided voters to run supplies. Seems to be making noise at the right time with the election coming up. Got to keep the seat on the gravy train.
Very true. He has done little more than pay lip service to most of his electorate. Now he is deflecting in order to cover up his own lack of support for the community. Everything he counts as an achievement, like Wadeye swimming pool, has been federally funded projects. The pool has been refurbished after it was shut down due to repeated damage by the locals.
Please follow up on the lack of emergency response. This happens continually across the Territory every wet season. There is no readily available emergency response information for Transporters or Communities to know who to contact and what next steps are when road access is an issue. Other states like QLD and WA have clear processes in place and have systems and contacts that communicate properly with affected people on the ground……something the NT definitely doesn’t have. Trying to navigate the bureaucracy as a Transporter is ridiculous. Regional public servants at DIPL have no idea….they can’t even keep their road updates updated properly online and only happen from 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday don’t expect anything over a weekend or public holiday. They expect you to know how to navigate their silly online portal etc however make no attempt to meet with industry to discuss updating their lack or systems in place nor discuss emergency response planning so literally every wet season NOBODY knows what to do. Road maintenance in this state is a joke no wonder roads are continually being shut and food security becomes an issue. Why the hell are Transporters and Pastoralists then expected to put their butts on the line to fix the problem because the government simply won’t fly in food. It’s a pathetic joke that in 2024 we are having any of this happen. This government simply has no idea and if the Minister can’t be given reliable information we minions don’t have a hope in hell.
He got in because Gunner took all the 5th floor staff out to Port keats to rounded up all the locals to vote and the rest of the electorate couldn’t be bothered voting in a bi election. He will be out on his ear later this year.
