The Lawler Government has agreed with a recommendation from a review of the Territory’s secondary school system to scrap middle schools across the NT, and rolling them into high schools.
Deloitte Access Economics, in partnership with Charles Darwin University, delivered 15 recommendations to improve public education, which includes replacing middle schools with more secondary schools – mentoring 7 to 12-year-old kids – in both Darwin and Alice Springs.
Great to know that this move is being undertaken.
The Year 7-12 model of secondary education has proven itself to be beneficial concerning student retention rates and academic success.
This will also help to alleviate staff shortages across the sector so teacher and support staff allocation can be better utilised.
Just another expensive experiment brought on by so called experts gone wrong.
