A woman who was killed after a vehicle crash near Daly River on Sunday is the 32nd person to die on Northern Territory roads this year, which compares to the seven people killed in the same period last year, and the 31 people killed for the whole of 2023.
NT Police director of communications Mark Wilton said in a statement the major crash investigation unit was investigating the single-vehicle crash which happened 18km west of Daly River along the Daly River Road, about 7pm on Sunday, where a 71-year-old male driver, and 77-year-old female passenger were injured and taken to local clinic for treatment.
He said the woman was transferred to Royal Darwin Hospital on Monday and died on Thursday.
Police said the driver tested negative for alcohol.
Data from NT Police shows 32 people have died on Territory roads this year including pedestrians, with seven people having been killed up until July 8 last year, and 31 people killed in that whole year.
