Amy Milford from Darwin Family Life won silver and bronze in two categories of the AusMumpreneur awards in Melbourne.
Ms Milford was the people’s choice silver award winner in the ‘making a difference – local community’ category, and the bronze winner in the ‘online community’ category at the awards ceremony on August 16.
The single mother of four said she was the sole businesswoman from the NT in the awards, and said she had won bronze in the people’s choice in 2023 and 2022.
“It was the support from the NT that clinched this award for me, allowing me to showcase our region on a platform in Melbourne,” Ms Milford said.
“Running your own business is not always a smooth ride, yet it can be incredibly rewarding and empowering. Flexibility is a tremendous advantage to me.
“Life and business can be a roller coaster, you have to endure the lows to fully appreciate the highs. You can always learn from the lows and mistakes, flip the script and mindset.”
The AusMumpreneur awards are run by the Women’s Business School, and aim to honour mothers excelling in business achievement, product innovation, customer satisfaction, and advances in digital technology.
Ms Milford said she started Darwin Family Life in 2017, and said it had grown from a website to include a Facebook page and group for parents and caregivers, Instagram, LinkedIn and a newsletter, and had become the go-to place for families moving to Darwin to gain information and insight into living in Darwin.
