In the last week the NT Government has awarded 27 contracts to a total value of over $7.6 million, including close to $5 million for civil works and construction services for a subdivision in Yirrkala and $88,000 to 4Kitchens for a welcome to country sign on Garramilla Boulevard.
Of these, 18 contracts worth $6.8 million were awarded to Northern Territory businesses, and nine contracts worth $894,000 were awarded to non-local businesses.
By far the largest awarded contract was the almost $5 million to Orton Byron Developments for civil works and construction services in Yirrkala. The smallest was $18,000 to GE Healthcare Australia for maintenance on the anesthetic machines in the Alice Springs Hospital.
Another notable contract was $228,000 to NT Shade and Canvas to design and construct a playground in Centralian Middle School.
