Northern Territory Police are searching for a group of six armed teenage thieves who allegedly went grog-robbing in two stores in Malak and Karama on Territory Day.
The six male teenagers, who were allegedly armed with undisclosed weapons, threatened the store staff in Malak and made off with several bottles of spirits around 8pm. The group immediately ran off and was found an hour later committing the same crime at another store in Karama, police said.
It was there, police allege, that the group assaulted a store employee who attempted to stop their crime spree.
NT Police did not say if the stores had surveillance cameras that might have captured the robbery.
The amount of spirits stolen was also not disclosed.
NT Police described the six youths as in their mid to late teens and being Aboriginal in appearance.
Five of them have dark complexions and one has a lighter complexion, police said. All have short dark hair and had clothing covering their faces to disguise their appearance at the time of the alleged robbery.
NT Police are calling for witnesses and urge anyone with information on the incident to call them on 131 444 or anonymously via CrimeStoppers on 1800 333 000. Please quote reference number 9350181.
