A man, or male teenager, is still on the run after robbing a business in Nightcliff with a knife, NT Police said.

Police director of communications Mark Wilton said in a statement that police alleged that about 2pm on Friday, a man, or a male teenager, brandishing a knife, stole cash following a struggle with a checkout operator at an unspecified business at the Nightcliff Shopping Centre on Dick Ward Drive in Nightcliff.

Mr Wilton said the alleged offender left on foot and is described as being Caucasian, aged between 17 and 22 years old, and was wearing a black AC/DC T-shirt, dark blue shorts, and a black baseball cap.
