Around 2,000 short-term hospitality and tourism workers from interstate, UK, and Germany are being sought under the Northern Territory government’s $2.6 million workforce campaign to fill critical skill shortages across the Territory ahead of the Dry season.
The newly launched “Work Hard, Play Hard” workforce campaign bids to lure tourism and hospitality workers to the Territory by offering “NT work perks” travel incentive.
Tourism NT said they are working with Tourism Top End, Tourism Central Australia and Hospitality NT and partnering with Job Shack NT to connect hospitality and tourism businesses looking for workers, offering the opportunity to advertise their jobs for free on the new Job Shack NT portal.
Working holiday makers that take up a tourism or hospitality job via Job Shack NT, may be eligible to receive a $500 work perks incentive, which they can spend on a tourism experience in the NT, Tourism NT said.

The $500 NT work perks travel codes are limited and can be redeemed at one of the Territory’s visitor information centres.
To be eligible for an NT Work Perks travel code workers need to be over 18 years of age, apply for and successfully fill an eligible tourism or hospitality role through the Job Shack NT website, and complete a minimum number of hours over at least eight weeks in the NT.
Tourism NT said hospitality and tourism businesses who wants to be included in the NT Work Perks travel incentive should contact their local Regional Tourist Organisation.
