News brief: NT children from five to get Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine from January 10

Territory children as young as five can now be vaccinated against COVID-19, the government has declared.

Bookings can be made for children aged between five and 11 to get the paediatric Pfizer covid-19 vaccine from Monday January 10, 2022.

To be fully vaccinated, children aged five to 11 years will receive two doses, eight weeks apart, with a dose of one third the amount compared to the vaccine for people aged 12 and over.

Parents and legal guardians will be required to consent to their child being vaccinated.
