A $1 million fund from the NT Government’s $35 million ‘market harder’ budget should be set aside for urgent tourism vouchers to keep Central Australia’s tourism industry alive following continued negative effects of Alice Springs’ crime crisis, the Opposition CLP says.
Shadow Treasurer Bill Yan and Member for Braitling, Josh Burgoyne proposed that the $1 million fund be allocated to a round of tourism vouchers for tourists visiting the Central Australian region as a dollar-for-dollar match up to $200, which follows the successful tourism vouchers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Spend the money on the crime problem first. The rest will follow instead of bans that move it elsewhere.
