Two housing providers in Darwin and Alice Springs have received $2.12 million as part of a new pilot community-housing program by the Fyles Government that offers inexpensive housing to domestic violence victims and survivors in the ongoing tight rental market.
A total of 25 homes – 17 in Darwin and eight in Alice Springs – will be operated by housing providers that would sub-lease to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness because of domestic violence, the government said.
