Police commissioner Michael Murphy has been officially terminated from the role, the Chief Minister has said, although there was no update provided on when a new commissioner will be hired and how that hiring panel will be managed.
Police Minister Lia Finocchiaro announced the sacking of Mr Murphy was completed on Tuesday afternoon, with his entitlements and final payment to be “processed promptly”.
No point promoting anyone from the NT police until every one of the top brass is assessed for competence to hold the jobs that Murphy put them in.
Instead of sacking them how about just busting them down to general duties and send them out bush.
They are still sworn officers so demotion and transfer should be an option?
