A Moulden man with a domestic violence order has been arrested after allegedly driving his car into his partner’s vehicle, injuring an eight-year-old child, NT Police said.
Authorities said the 27-year-old man allegedly grew agitated when he saw his partner driving a vehicle with the four passengers, including children last Thursday.
“The male then drove his vehicle into her stationary vehicle before leaving the scene,” police media manager Rob Cross said in a statement.
An eight-year-old passenger in the woman’s car received minor injuries, police said.
Police did not explain who the parents of the children were.
On Monday – four days after the incident – NT police said the man attended the Palmerston Police station where he was arrested and charged with recklessly endangering life and serious harm, breaching a domestic violence order, and driving in manner dangerous, and leaving the scene of a crash.
He remains in custody until today and will face Darwin Local Court at an undisclosed date.
