A motorbike rider has been killed in a crash at Howard Springs, NT Police has said.

Northern Watch Commander Clinton Stewart told the NT News the man, whose age has not been released, died in the single vehicle crash on his motorbike on Whitewood Rd, Howard Springs, just after 9.20pm Tuesday.

“A joint emergency response was initiated, St John, police and fireys attended to the location and at the scene an adult male was located deceased,” he told the paper.

“The matter remains under investigation.”

Comndr Stewart said the cause of the crash was unclear.

A 59-year-old man was killed on Saturday when his motorbike hit a tree along the Stuart Hwy, about 70km south of Mataranka.
