Two women aged 39 and 46, who are staying in a quarantine accommodation in Tennant Creek, were caught repeatedly leaving their place in breach of the mandatory 14-day quarantine period, police say.
A concerned citizen initially reported the breach to the NT Police on April 15.
Authorities had initially given them a warning and reiterated the quarantine requirements. But the women continued leaving their accommodation so the police went to their location to give them the $1,099 infringement penalties.
The women are subject to further risk assessment to determine if contact tracing is required.
It was not stated whether the women came from interstate or overseas.
The accommodation facility remains undisclosed.
26 noncompliance fines have been issued and 4,960 compliance checks have now been completed, according to the NT Police. A total number for those in quarantine has still not been released.
