A man who allegedly went on a rampage inside an Alice Springs bar with a star picket has turned himself in, NT Police said.

Police will allege the 30-year-old man assaulted a staff member and two patrons after he was refused entry at Club Eastside on Monday.

“During the assault, the man is further alleged to have armed himself with a star picket and threatened the staff member and two patrons, and damaged items inside the property,” NT Police media manager Rob Cross said in a statement.

“The man was subsequently arrested and charged with aggravated assault, assaulting workers, engaging in violence conduct, damage to property, being disorderly in public and failing to leave licensed premises.

He was expected to appear before court today.

Police were also calling for the public’s help to identify a group of men who had joined in on the brutal bashing of a bartender at the same establishment, but gave no update of their efforts at locating the four men who stomped on the worker’s head.
