A rural area resident has been rushed to the hospital after he was struck by lightning during a storm Wednesday night in Berry Springs, St John Ambulance said.
St John Ambulance NT operations manager Craig Garraway said the man sustained minor injuries from the lightning.
“A bit of a big storm came through last night, a bit of a surprise and we ended up with a male at Berry Springs caught in a road area struck by lightning,” Mr Garraway told ABC Radio Darwin.
He said the man was taken to the Royal Darwin Hospital by his family and was assessed by paramedics.
The man is now in a stable condition and recovering, he added.
“Very lucky [man], big storm and obviously a lot of lightning out in the rural area.”
