A man was flown to Royal Darwin Hospital after being stabbed in an unnamed remote Roper Gulf community overnight, and his attackers are still on the run, NT Police said.
Police director of communications Mark Wilton said in a statement that about 9.15pm Tuesday, police were told a man had been stabbed in the unspecified community in the Roper Gulf region. The region covers an area of 185,210 sq km.
The victim was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital by Care Flight.
Mr Wilton said multiple offenders were believed to have been involved – all thought to know the victim – and have not been caught.
