A 32-year-old man has today been charged with murder after his partner was found dead in Palmerston on Tuesday night, NT Police said.
Police director of communications Mark Wilton said that about 10:30pm Tuesday police received reports that a woman was unresponsive in the front yard of a home on Waterhouse Crescent in the Palmerston suburb of Driver.
“Emergency services attended and a 31-year-old woman was transported to Royal Darwin Hospital where she was later pronounced deceased,” Mr Wilton said.
He said the man was arrested at the scene and Major Crime unit detective charged him earlier today with one count of murder and one count of breaching a domestic violence order.
He has been remanded in custody to appear in Darwin Local Court tomorrow. A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
