A man has been charged with rape, depravation of liberty, aggravated assault, and strangulation, along with other offences over an alleged domestic violences attack, NT Police said.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Chay McArthur said in a statement that police responded to reports of a woman allegedly being assaulted by a man, at a remote MacDonnell region community, about 10.15am on Sunday. Police said they believed the two knew each other.
