A 37-year-old man has been arrested and is facing multiple charges following an “extensive investigation” into the cause of 80 illegal bushfires through the Greater Darwin region over a three month period, NT Police said.

The months-long investigation into the bushfires that caused massive destruction to the region that affected businesses was a joint operation between NT Police and NT Fire and Rescue Service.
