A 34-year-old man has been charged by NT Police for a domestic violence incident that allegedly involved him forcing his partner into a car and assaulting her in September of last year.
The man fled before the police could respond after the victim was able to escape during the alleged incident last year.
However, police said the man was arrested on Friday in Malak and charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment serious harm, damage to property, deprivation of liberty, and possession of a schedule one dangerous drug (less than trafficable quantity).
It was unclear why it took so long to apprehend him.

He was remanded to appear before Darwin Local Court this week, police said.
“This is appalling behaviour from an individual and what this woman has had to endure is not acceptable,” Detective Senior Sergeant Justin Bentley said.
“If you or anyone you know is experiencing domestic or family violence, please contact 131 444 or in an emergency call Triple 000. You can also anonymously report through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
Police said support services are available including 1800RESPECT (1800 737 732) and Lifeline on 131 114.
