A man has been arrested over the “suspicious” death of a woman in a Malak house overnight, NT Police said.

Police director of communications Mark Wilton said in a statement that about 12:10am Wednesday, police received reports that a 43-year-old woman was dead at a house in Magdelene Court, Malak.

“Resuscitation attempts were made, however, the woman was declared deceased shortly after emergency service arrival,” Mr Wilton said.

Police did not say how the woman died but said a 57-year-old man, who knew the victim, was arrested a short time later at a separate location in Malak, and remains in custody.

Detectives are asking anyone with information, particularly if they have CCTV along Magdelene Court, to call them on 131 444 (quote reference NTP2400082062), or make an anonymous report by calling Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or through the website.
