Man arrested over alleged daylight city grog robbery

A 19-year-old man has been arrested and charged for an alleged brazen daylight grog robbery at a Darwin City business on Tuesday, while his accomplice is still at large, NT Police said.

The two men allegedly robbed the undisclosed Cavenagh St business in broad daylight at around 1:40pm Tuesday.

One of the robbers allegedly threatened a member of staff with a blunt weapon and ran off with a quantity of alcohol.

Police did not specify the quantity of grog stolen.

Detectives from Serious Crime have located and arrested the 19-year-old who has since been charged with aggravated robbery.

He is scheduled to appear in Darwin Local Court today.

Detective Senior Sergeant Brett Cottier said detectives are locating one outstanding offender for this incident.

“This behaviour has no place in our community,” he said.

Meanwhile, also on Tuesday, a pair was arrested over an aggravated robbery at a business in Berrimah on Sunday.

Police earlier released images of 31-year-old male and 28-year-old female before making the arrest.

It is believed a public tipoff helped in locating the pair.
