Man arrested in connection to death in the northern suburbs

One man is dead and another in custody after an alleged fight at a residence in a northern suburb Tuesday afternoon.

NT Police said they arrested a 28-year-old man following the death of a 42-year-old man in Malak, which they said was the result of an assault.

Neighbours told the NT News a fight had broken out at a residence in the suburb, but they hadn’t realised it had escalated to a death.

Police said they were called to the scene at around 5:40pm.

The 42-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene and the 28-year-old was “arrested nearby”.

Investigations continue at the scene of the crime.

Police have yet to announce any charges as of Wednesday morning.
