A 25-year-old man has been arrested and charged with one count of sexual assault after allegedly assaulting a 19-year-old woman while working at a remote resort in Central Australia last month, NT Police said.

Detectives from the Southern Criminal Investigation Branch arrested the man late yesterday.

He is currently in police custody and was scheduled to appear before the Alice Springs Local Court today.

Police did not provide any further information.
