Please vote Darwin Council Lord Mayor Kon Vatskalis out of office in the Darwin City Council Elections in July / August 2025 and put him last when you vote for Darwin Council Lord Mayor next year in 2025.
That Book Will Never Dent the Lord Mayors current Reputation!!!! You cant damage a non existent reputation. Mr Bullock is encouraged to start a GoFundMe campaign!
It seems LM Kon Vatskalis, CEO Simone Saunders & Cr Sam Weston have quite a few allegations against them to deal with. It’s not fair rate payers fund the expensive lawyers when the City of Darwin act in secret & fail to consult with the community. Why do CoD outsource Code of Conduct complaints to NTG funded consultants who are clearly not independent? LGANT should investigate these cases? CoD should be put into administration for a forensic financial audit before $150 million is spent on a 21 story civic centre.
The Lord Mayors reputation has been sliding downwards for a few years now. I am sure he had way more slanderous words flung at him when he was a Labor Minister. He was responsible for the forced and rapid implementation the failed ‘Middle School’ concept in the NT. With this current issue, he may not have been dishonest, but it sounds like he was certainly arrogant.
I drove down to see if I can see it. I could. But barely behind the trees. From the not so far distance it looks tiny. I think this one will get an entry in the book of bad jokes. Or perhaps the book of bad jokes, or the book or famous jokes.
As a former Councillor – I find this very disturbing and personally a potential misuse of ratepayers money. I am on the public record as saying Council should have deferred the construction of the so called ‘Public Art’ structure at Bundilla Beach to the New Year – rather than creating a Lighting Rod of Dissent during this important 50th Commemoration of Cyclone Tracy.
I also believe Council made a terrible error awarding the Shoal Bay Trash & Treasure Recycling Contract to an interstate organisation- rather than the locally based HPA.
Ratepayers will have the opportunity to voice their displeasure with Councillors who support (or not willing to admit their mistakes) at the next Council Elections in August 2025.
Kindest Regards Brian O’Gallagher – MLA for Karama

Well “It makes st be a corrupt process mustn’t it” Plain and simple- So sack the lot of them and SUE them to recoupe costs if corruption is proved! For Christ sake don’t ask Lia or the CLP-WHY you may ask? Go read what our dancing baking Chief Minister and Andrew Kirkman! The NT had a pong with Labor but with Lia and this CLP there is a real stink! Try not to cough
I think that Kon and his cohorts have underestimated the angst this matter has caused the CT survivors. Will they sue anyone who has made disparaging comments in these pages. You will get your comeuppance for your deceit Kon.

Typical Labor response to the possibility of being embarassed by the truth.

l think Kon and the CEO are both past their use by date.

I am in agreement with all the above.
