Letter to the editor: The end of Julie Crisp’s term is sad

Dear Editor,
The end of Julie Crisp’s time as Auditor-General is very sad.

Throughout all the up and down years of Territory politics when she served, she was the steady, independent, intelligent, and a quiet achiever who highlighted the issues, especially about the use or misuse of money by government departments.

She was able to explain budgets and annual reports to politicians like me who needed guidance to understand the budget mysteries, and for that I was always grateful.

Besides all that, she is a wonderful lady and the Territory should thank her for all her good work.

Gerry Wood, Howard Springs

  1. Noooooo!
Labour will put in some Labour sycophant in now who will emulate ICACs boss and do nothing!

On unrelated news: Whats this I hear about a Department CEO whose only qualification was she was a Labour politicians daughter?

  2. We desperately need more people like Julie Crisp, to hold governments accountable for their spending. Sadly, and oh so predictably, we will only see a Labor appratchik parachuted in to fill the vacancy Julie leaves behind. Thank you, Julie, for the great service you gave to Territorians.
