Darwin’s Kassiou Constructions and its director are facing fines of more than $50,000 for allegedly neglecting to pay a former employee’s accrued annual leave entitlements upon his resignation, the Fair Work Ombudsman said.

Fair Work Ombudsman Anna Booth said the employee, who was with Kassiou Constructions from 2012 to 2021, did not receive the payment due for “accrued but untaken” annual leave upon the termination of their employment.
