The Lawler Government has declared war on single-use coffee cups, hiring a company to encourage Territory cafes and food outlets to trial reusable coffee cups that would see coffee drinkers “borrow” a cup from one cafe for a deposit and return it to another participating cafe.
The government said the trial will see participating cafes introduce the reusable cup system “and learn how it can be integrated into their business as an alternative to takeaway cups”.
