SunCable has reached a 70-year, multi-million dollar Indigenous Land Use Agreement with native title holders and the Northern Land Council for the construction of its proposed multi-gigawatt solar facility and battery storage facility at Powell Creek station, outside of Elliott.

The agreement, signed on Monday, paves the way for the development of SunCable’s Australia-Asia PowerLink (AAPL) project in its initial conception of a 12,000-hectare area, which aims to supply reliable renewable electricity to industrial customers in Darwin and potentially Southeast Asia.
