Police are searching for one of two males who allegedly entered an Alice Springs apartment Sunday night and attempted to enter a bedroom by using a knife to unlock the door before fleeing the scene, NT Police said.

One of the alleged offenders, a 15-year-old male, was arrested around 11:10pm last night, police said and remains in custody while enquiries are ongoing to identify and locate the other male.

Police said they received a report around 10:30pm Sunday that the two males had broken into an apartment on Strehlow Street in the Gap. One of the males allegedly used a knife found inside the apartment to open the bedroom door but both fled when confronted by the victim.

“Detectives are urging anyone with information, particularly if you have CCTV in the area that may have captured the two males, to make contact with police on 131 444. Please quote reference 10375445,” police said in a statement.

“You can also make an anonymous report through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 444.”
