Eight kids aged between 11 and 16-years old have been arrested over an alleged attempted break-in on Friday night in Alice Springs, NT Police have said.
Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Robert Kent said in a statement that about 8:30pm, the eight, aged between 11 and 16, allegedly attempted to break into a business on Milner Rd.
He said police found them soon after trying to hide nearby, with the use of a drone, and a 13-year-old girl was charged with trespass, damaging property, and attempting unlawful entry, and was remanded to appear in court on Monday.
Six of the remaining youth were charged with the same offences and bailed to appear at later dates, Snr Sgt Kent said, and said a 14-year-old would be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act 2005.
“NT Police will continue to tirelessly work to combat property crime in all its forms,” he said.
