A Woodroofe Supermarket customer who was kicked out of the store following an incident with staff, allegedly rammed the front doors of the market “at speed” with his ute before fleeing the scene, NT Police said.

Authorities said the incident happened shortly after 10am, when the driver of the white Landcruiser utility deliberately reversed into the store’s front doors on Baldwin Drive.

NT Police Watch Commander Kaye Pemberton said the driver of the vehicle had an altercation with one of the store’s staff members.

The male driver was allegedly asked to leave from the store’s premises.

Cdr Pemberton did not mention what caused the altercation, but alleged that the driver went back to his car and deliberately reversed his vehicle at speed into the front doors.

“The driver immediately decamped before a registration could be obtained,” she said.

There was no mention if anyone was hurt in the incident.

Authorities described the vehicle as a white Landcruiser utility with an aluminium tray with no sides, black bull bar, side rails, and steps.

They also noted that there was a blue toolbox on the back and another “red item”, possibly a generator.

Police described the driver as a Caucasian male, with dark hair, wearing a camo style t-shirt and brown pants when the incident happened.

There was no mention if the driver had a companion.

Cdr Pemberton urged the male driver to hand himself to police.

NT Police are calling on any witnesses or members of the public that saw the vehicle to contact them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 and quote reference 9912945.
