NT WorkSafe has issued a public safety warning on faulty DC isolators while conducting audits of solar PV systems amid a significant increase in DC insulator-related fires reported in the Northern Territory.

Around 11 properties suffered fires caused by DC isolators—which disconnect the main power from household solar PV systems—in the NT this year. This represents a huge upward spike from only four DC isolator-related fires recorded last year.
